Opening Cutscene

I enjoyed this assignment as it really highlighted the special parameters game writers work within. While you can imagine telling a game's story in a million different ways, in reality, you are bound by the time, budget, capabilities, and requirements of the overall project. Keeping all these things in mind while creating an engaging and interesting cutscene that is both concise and informative was an enjoyable challenge I hope to encounter more in the future.



Here is a truncated version of the assignment for this piece of writing:


Write out the first scene of the concept you came up with in week one. Write it out as an in-engine cutscene, which means you need to be careful how many special effects you have that aren’t present in your gameplay.


Use a screenplay format and try to get from “Fade In” to the gameplay within 300

words.
